The Compostela Group, founded in Santiago de Compostela in 1993, has developed rapidly into one of the largest and most diverse university consortia in the world. The members of the network join forces to ensure an ever enhanced quality of higher education. Our members are open to interaction with society and collectively are recognised as a progressive force in society.

Historically heavily rooted in Europe, the members are keen that we have as much a positive influence on local development as on globalisation and gradually the Group is opening up to a worldwide membership.
